Have an old hand lift grain drill. Is there supposed to be a rope trip to stop the seed drop while turning on the end rows?

No matter what type lift the JD grain drill has when lifting disk openers there ids a mechanism that disengages the feed shaft from the ground drive mechanism. Throw out clutch on model FB-B is parts keys are 12-15

hand lift also stops seeding when lifted, no other way. That drill is designed for only lowering when you pull into field and when you pull out of field. You are supposed to do the round and round system, not a turn and back system. All drills were designed for that way, corn planter only turn and back system designed that way. Only exception on drills were the one horse drill made to plant between the rows of standing corn.

Here in corrogated irrigation country everyone plants perpendicular to the corrugation. That's why I asked it does stop seeding when lifted up. Thanks
