Sprayer Nozzle Question?

I'm still trying to get this thru my head. The boom on my sprayer has 25 nozzles spaced 20" apart. All of the nozzles overlap each other except the 2 outside nozzles. When figuring spraying width, if you figure 25 nozzles at 20" spacing, it covers 500inches, 41.66ft. But, the 2 outside nozzles are only single coverage. Looks to me like there would be less chemical sprayed at each end of the boom, but the only time I have skips in coverage is where I drive too wide. Maybe it's like women, you aren't supposed to understand them, just accept them the way they are. Chris

If you are making each pass at 500 inches, the end tip recieves its overlap on the next pass.

On the first or last trip through the field is where you have no overlap.

You may also find that you get essentially the same kill rate with half the spray. Don't try it on a regular basis as that is where herbicide resistance can start. Change chemicals each year too as one weed may be resistant to one chemical and survive only to be dealt a death blow by another chemical.
