Hello from WA State - looking for box scraper locally?

Hello - just joined the forum!

I'm on my second tractor - previous one was a fordson major diesel, until it blew a head gasket and I sold it.

I just recently picked up a MF35 Diesel Deluxe, 1961 vintage from what I could glean from the serial number.

I want to buy a mid-heavy duty box scraper - but the ones available locally seem to be pretty cheaply made...and definitely not heavy duty!

Does anyone know of a implement dealer in say, WA or OR that sells a good quality box scraper? I'm googling..but not finding anything of interest...

Google on a line of equipment ( LandOride, KingKutter, etc) and then see if they have a dealer finder on their website.

Jennings Equipment in Puyallup would be a good place to start. Any of the John Deere dealers but you pay for green paint...
Lots of Tractor Supply stores moving in around here I see too but I do not know what they carry.

We made our own years ago. I think brother sold it when he retired; no idea who has it now. It was a bit heavier than factory made so it would work better in our heavy soil. If you have the tools, you can make one yourself.

I notice that the home builders - or the people who grade their lots - usually have a construction grade tractor with a Gannon box blade. I have a JD box blade and it's pretty stout, but he Gannon models appear to be much sturdier.

Unless you're in real rock pile I'd think a Kingkutter would fill the purpose. They used to market what they called the
"Professional series". They have a "Okay" price, kinda middle of the road price. I've used 6' for 'bout 10 years and it's held up
good. bjr

(quoted from post at 21:05:31 03/29/16) I recently bought a John Deere "Frontier" box blade. I am pleased with it.

Thanks everyone for the input. I would Love to build my own...don't have time or the equipment...although it would force me to buy a 220v welder!

David - I looked up Frontier and found a local dealer Washington Tractor. A bit pricier than the units at TractorSupply - but way better quality materials/construction from what I could see comparing both.

I ended up getting both a rear blade (RB5060) and a box blade (BB2048) - the rear blade was actually a "new" 2013 model that was never used so was a decent price and they knocked off a couple bucks on the box blade for a (imo) reasonable package price on both.

Now I just need to replace the steering wheel, exhaust and add the horizontal stabilizer to the PTO and I should be scraping and dragging in a couple days!

I did like what I saw on KingKutter implements online but couldn't find anyplace selling them local to see them in-person.

Northern tools was close to 600-700.00 shipping for a rear blade and box blade combo...too much $$ to make it worth it in the long run.
