335 round baler

I posted this on the Deere forum but thought I should post here also. My bil located a one owner 335 for $5000.It usually didnt bale over 50 acres a year. Compared to tractor house I guess its worth that but not a steal. Are these pretty good balers? I probably wont bale over 3-400 bales a year. Is there anything in particular I should look out for? Thanks for any help/advice,Lee.

335 is one of JD's cheaper models with no bale monitor and manual controlled hyd or electric tie after SN 960001 - . Myself I'd opt for a 435/535 over a 335.

Be sure and look at the condition of the belts as when new the treads on belts have 3 steps on them

Thanks again Tx Jim. When worn are the cleats all close to the same size? The family said it had very little use but a bearing had gone down and the local J D store replaced the whole rear roller. I am using second hand information from my bil who went there to look at another piece of equipment. He said the baler looked new. I dont mind the hydraulic tie so much because no more than I bale a control unit is pretty expensive to replace if damaged or stolen. I am trying to learn as much as possible before I look at it. Thanks again, Lee
