JD 7000 Planter problem

My 7000 planter with liquid fertilizer and squeeze pump seems to putting more fertilizer on the left outside row. Anybody know what I need to do to correct this?

It sounds like you have a blockage in the other lines. You will need to pull the hose at the pump and drop tube and check to see if there are restrictions. Once everything has been cleaned out turn the pump with water in place of fertilizer and if you have buckets then see how much liquid winds up in each bucket based on the number of rotations of the pump shaft. If you do not find any blockage then it is possible that the springs on the backing plate are getting weak allowing for uneven distribution. My money would be on the blockage as nearly every spring ahead of planting I hook a water line up under pressure to the pump inlet and can see the unevenness in a few row units then I chase down whatever is blocking each line. More often than not the drop tube at the disc opener has serious corrosion issues.

NY986 has done a good job on the common stuff. Also check the hoses on the pump itself. I have had them deform while not in used and then not pump evenly. Some times they are kind of flatter than they should be and then that tube/hose will not fill as much as the other tube/hoses. Unless they have gone up in price I used to just put new ones on each year. IRC they where around $5-8 each. I am sure they are higher now.

Do you have a flow divider on your planter. On mine I had to make every hose the same length to put out the same amount.
