How hard is it to find one of these choppers for sale near Michigan? I'm only planning on a few acres of corn so not wanting anything big. Never seen one in person.

JD made a single row mounted chopper similar to the 707. Used to be lots around here,
haven't seen one for years.

Use to have a 717. Very nice chopper. If I can't find a 707 I'll get a 717 just want the 707 for it being semi mount and more nimble.

We had one that we traded on a new tractor. My dad also bought a new Kemper cutter in the early 70's. With our Oliver we had to make a bracket to hold the 3 point closed and ended up with a broken hub on rear of tractor. It worked good with the 1555 and he pulled the wagon right up to the blower. He also had a Grove hydraulic unloading wagon so he didn't have to worry about the PTO shaft. There also was a Mengelli 3 point chopper and my bosses MIL just sold it last year. I was at an auction last year and a 707 was sold that had been extended so it would fit a larger tractor. On our White 2-70 with 18-4-34 rears had to move the hub in as far in as it would go. Also need weights on the tractor opposite of the cutter head it's heavy hanging out there!

I have a S717 for sale with a 770w pickup. It is also near Mitchell, Ontario, Canada. With the difference in the dollar it will be cheap! Send me a email if interested.

Stoneage Equipment near Mitchell Ontario had one the last time I was there. It isn't showing on their website now. Their phone # is 519-393-

Used to see a good bunch of 707's in this area along with the JD's and Mengele's. Don't know anything about the Mengele's, but don't be afraid of the JD if you find one. We had one and it worked well.
