John Deere hoppers, metal, gear drive

Confused on another set of hoppers I got on an unseen pkg deal.
These hoppers are metal, little larger than my 246 seed hoppers, and have a gear drive on the bottom of each. The drive is accessible by removable door, and contains a shaft that seems to interlink with a base. The drive has what appears to be an external toothed sprocket to turn the mechanism. The unit itself weighs approx 15-30lbs, if not more.

I'm just a young fella, but not a newbie, gettin aquainted with this ole stuff, so please bear with me. Thanks for all the help.

A pic of that would be invaluable in figuring out what it is.

They had several different designs of seed boxes over the years as they moved from plate to finger pickup, and several different designs and
sizes of fertilizer boxes to fit the 4 and 6 row planters.

Then the insecticide boxes came along, yet another different design of metered boxes.

And then some of the boxes came along split in half, one side insecticide one side granular herbicide.

Then just to,confuse issues there are a few conversion kits to convert an insecticide box to put out fertilizer instead.......

Many started out as metal boxes and transitioned into fiberglass boxes....

So, now, what do you have? Many could identify a pic real quick, but your description will leave out the details that are important to figure the
age and type of box you got. There are actually so many possibilities....

Richard, it loooks very similar. The base of the hoppers also has two quarter size outlets holes on the inside as well. Thanks for the pic. What model is that?
