Trying to get a few opinions. 1816B uniloader should use 10/40 oil for hydraulics is what they say. I changed it 5/30 thinking I might warm up faster when it is during the winter months. Didn't make that much diferents. Now I am wondering if I could have went with ATF and if I drained the tanks if ATF and 5/30 that would be left in the lines and hydraulic motors would mix or not''' almost tempted to try it. Anybody have any thoughts on this !! And if they did mix would it be Dextron III or what type of ATF.??

Just put a good hydraulic oil in the system. Most hydraulic oil is 10w. I can not see any reason to sue a thicker oil in a skid steer system.

A lot of the newer skidders use motor oil and not hydraulic oil, it's to protect brass bushings. Use what the manufacturer tells you what to use.

i have a 1845c case and when i had the hyd drive motors replaced they told me to swicth to good hyd fluid. i have not had any problems and that was 2 years ago.
