Looking for a bit of advice from anyone who knows about these plows. It's been a long time since I sat in a tractor seat pulling a JD rope trip plow. This plow was purchased from a junk yard, the frame was taken apart, sand blasted and inspected for cracks or repairs. Luckily the frame was as solid as the day it was made so it was painted with Tractor Supply's version of Oliver paint. We have learned about adjusting the right lift arm on our Ford 641 as well as the top link. I am puzzled by the adjusting arm on the plow itself. The bar that the lift arms attach to is movable on the left side. I'm not sure what this adjuster does but I guess that when adjusted all the way forward the plow sits more to the right (furrow side) decreasing the amount of soil it turns. Adjusted all the way to the rear will increase the amount of soil it turns. I can only guess this adjuster has something to do with the condition of the field ad the speed at which it can be plowed. Does anyone have experience with this model of Oliver plows? Any info is appreciated and thanks in advance!
