Hello,
Can anyone tell me how well a Olathe Model 12 3pt PTO Chipper works? I have an orchard that has grown out of control. Have read some not so good reviews on the Pequea 3 PT. chippers hydraulic feed or not. This Olathe is old but a very heavy drum type chipper...other than safety concerns does anyone have any experience with one of these?
A Cat dozer would also do the job but the chipper is cheaper.

Thanks

Olathe (KS) no longer in business but drum chippers tend to be durable, Baileys may have knives to fit, NAPA might handle other parts you need, PTO eliminates lots of chipper headches

check the drum bearings and belts, don't know how big the feed chute is but bigger is better, 35hp tractor should spin the machine just fine unless you start running big stuff thru, that should be firewood anyway

try the machine out before you buy it chipping actual brush you intend to chip, if you can't take machine to your place then haul load of branches to the sellers place, oh and don't forget to duck

I know nothing about chippers! Which type of chipper would process the wood in small chunks rather than shredded wood? Drum or some other type?
