New to me, I used it a little last summer did a real nice job but the nut on the shaft that drives the sickle kept coming loose and made it very noisy. I can't figure out what is supposed to keep this from backing off once the bearing pre-load is set.

It's been awhile since I had one of those but I believe it had a flat piece of metal that went behind the nut and you hammered the metal down on two sides of the nut to hold it from turning.

That would make sense, looking at the parts diagram it shows a washer but it appears to be a heavy flat washer, a friend of mine said one of the flats of the nuts should have a set screw in it that you tighten down but it doesn't have that. Guess if I pull it apart it might be apparent.

I looked again at the diagram it shows a screw goes in the double sheave pulley, wonder if it is supposed to protrude and be tightened against the nut once it's set?
