Anybody got a tongue?

I need a running gear tongue. It's for an old Gehl G500 running gear and the tongue on it now is twisted and bent beyond repair. The only critical measurements are the width of the tongue at the hitch cannot exceed 6 inches and the hitch bolt diameter is 5/8". I live in the Lansing, Michigan area and am willing to drive 100 miles or so if I can locate a tongue. Otherwise, I will need to have one made. A local welding shop can make one for several hundred dollars which is close to the cost of another old running gear.

Just use a piece of square tubing. Drill a hole with the drill press and go. The tabs can be transferred Or you could cut the back off where it goes into the front of the mechanism and weld a tube to that. We use Oak 4x4's for some tongues.
