New Holland HD vs Standard Knotters - What's the difference?

I see that some of the higher capacity New Holland balers, like the 575 use a "heavy duty" knotter whereas a 311 or 273 type New Holland baler uses a "standard" knotter. Aside from being "heavy duty" - what are the advantages of this HD knotter vs standard? Wear and tear? Easier service? Are part a problem for the HD knotters?

Just curious.

Thanks!

As far as I know, the difference is in the knotter frame, and the way they attatch to the knotter shaft.Pretty sure the billhooks and twine disks, etc are the same. The principle/funtion is exactly the same. IMHO,the HD knotter is just an 'upgrade' from the earlier, older balers. This is just from 'casual observation' from 2 balers sitting side by side.

Bigger diameter knotter shaft, split knotter frame; you can replace knotter without disassembling knotter stack. Eccentric collars to set knotter stack endplay instead of shims, knife arms are different, those are the high points.
