New Idea picker part

We broke a gathering chain on a New Idea no. 300 picker. Turns out it was one of the attachment links that broke. Turns out the rest of them are all worn paper thin and one of them is even cracked. If we re-install this chain it is going to break again. Our dealer said this link is no longer available. Does anyone know of a source, or have any decent ones they'd sell? The number is 67W C6R. I've found several sources for the chain itself, but not for these attachment links.
We could probably use a few for the other side as well. The number there is 67W C6L.

One more question: In researching this I notice that the newer pickers use the same size chain, but the attachment links are different. Would those work on our picker?

There is a guy in (I think) Ohio who specializes in old farm chain. Dont remember his name.Advertized in "Farm Show' mag a while
back.Couple years? Maybe someone here knows. I would think the 'full width' tooth would work however. If not, could the tooth be
trimmed? Good luck,Steve

Where are you at? I have several 324s sitting in the woods. Don't know if the chain is the same. should be old NI pickers in most parts of the country. Just gotta find one. I would think you could buy the whole chain from some aftermarket sources

I think you're right, Mike. Those do look like spreader links. Thanks for taking the time to look.

Don, thanks for the farmchains link. I've been on that site in the past. The website itself does not show the part I need, but perhaps I should give him a call.

Steve, I need to look the picker over more closely to see if another type of chain will work. This is not my picker, so it's off site and not real handy to check. I plan to try and do that soon. By the way, my own picker is working real well with the chain I got from you before. Thanks again!

Thanks to everyone who replied.
Rich

You didn't say if it was the left or right chain. Try 01917PMA that's a complete left gathering chain. The right chain is 01918PMA. Here is the description for the left chain.

Left Long Gathering Chain, 26 - No. 67 W Plain Links And 13-67WC6R Attachment Links, 13 Attachments Followed By 2 Plain Links (Lot No. P161-P193) (10 Lbs.)

It's $18.10 for the left chain at Jacks small engine.http://www.jackssmallengines.com/se...RID:11&q=01917PMA&sa.x=25&sa.y=19

I have an old 1 sitting out back. If I can get home before dark tonight and can remember I will go out back and look, neighbors have been taking parts off it for years but I think the gathering chains are all there.

A follow up---I went to the Farmchains dot com website. It did not show the link I was looking for. But I emailed them the same picture I posted here. Received a prompt reply from a guy named Kyle. He said they did not carry that link in stock, but could get them. Said they could not be ordered through the website, but he gave me his direct phone number. I called him and told him how many I needed. They arrived here yesterday. Very fine people to do business with. I would certainly deal with them again.
