NH 1037 bale wagon

My 1037 started having problems-when first table lifts the 4 and 5th tiers onto the second table pump stalls and does not release.
Turn the pto off and let first table start to leak down turn pto back on and it works fine,
Can the relief valve go bad--I'm open to suggestions.

Rereading this again from the earlier post,I agree that first table needs to be adjusted. My 1032 ddoes that from time to time. The first table started sticking up,found a groove in the release trip arm. Built it up,now works as it should. Worn linkages/trips can cause all kinds of troubles. Look for a groove in the trip, weak springs, even crap in the 'works'.I dont think it is a valve problem. Those things are ultra sensitive to misadjustment. Look over closely, pay specially to the first table trips.Sometimes just oiling helps.Trip it by hand while empty/tractor engine idleing.Watch closely. Just be careful to NOT get yourself 'stacked'.Good luck. Those wagons can cause you to learn new words...or drink lots of alcohol....LOL

Hi Delta Have exactly the same problem on my 1034. The solution I found was to grease the first table trip plate pivot and the first table over-centre trip pivot with every cut I pick up and it is happy days.

Make sure the little spring on the last bale trip lever is not broken. They work pretty good without it but sitting here I can't remember if failing to release the first table is the result. I have to lube my valve spools occasionally so hydraulic pressure will trip them when it should. I think they are just GREAT machines, mine keeps me making money on small square bales.

Hey, I had the same problem- the first table sticks in the upright position and won't come down.

I was able to get the table to come down by raising and lowering the bale pickup, by moving the handle back and forth. This seemed to release the pressure inside the fist table ram and allow it to come down. This is a pain in the butt, so I investigated more. There is an interlock switch at the center of the flip up (the two-bale staging that flips two bales at a time up to the first table). This interlock switch was bent, and was not retracting properly, thus the first table would stack 8 bales on the second table and then get stuck and not retract. Once I straightened this interlock switch out, everything worked smooth and perfect again.
