Rollover plow for John Deere 1020

My father bought his JD 1020 brand new in 1965. With it came a rollover plow. I can't not remember the size of the plow to save my life. Well, I now have a 1966 JD 1020 and I want to get a rollover plow for it. Would a JD 825 2 bottom work or will it be too much for the tractor to handle?

Any recommendations on the number of front counter weights? I do have the main one on now. Plus if needed I guess I could keep the #37 loader on as well.

These 1020s were little work horses. We used a #5 sicklebar to mow hay. I now have the #8 sicklebar. Ran a 346 hay baler. It was a little too much for it. Hard on the pto. 327/328 baler would have been better. 2 bottom rollover plow was great. She worked pulling it though. Lastly, we used a 1950s Allis Chalmers 66 combine. I'm buying a AC 72 right now.

My thoughts would be baling same windrow at same ground speed 346 would be easier on tractor pto if operated at pto speed because I think 346 operated at faster strokes per minute than a 327/328.

The 825 - 825A was replaced in 1964 with the F835 - F845 and they seem to be slightly lighter and definitely stronger . That would be my choice and the year would match also . .

The biggest hassle for you may be the wheel tread setting! You will need to have the wheels out to 6' on centers (+/- a couple inches) for the plow to work properly! I speak from experience, as I have an 825 2-16s!
