Is there a way to have the rubber sections replaced on the lower main feed roller shaft(I think that is what you call it?)? You can't buy new rollers anymore I'm told and I can't find a good used one with good rubber on it??? Actually my rubber is good, BUT I bent the roller and I found a used roller, but the rubber is wore real bad. It is a nice baler with net wrap, etc., may just have to sell it to someone as is???? Anyone please help! allen at tennesseeland dot com

Allen I just got your email. Remove all the rubber on the good roller. Then take it and have it sprayed with Rhinoliner the pickup bed liner. I have done this for several years and it works.

Both drive rollers have to be the same treatment/diameter. If not they will work against one another causing belt wear/damage. Also will damage the other rubber covered roll. Again, the drive rollers have to be the same diameter!

Roger you do them both. I have done it on 15-20 bales and they work fine. I did not come up with the idea. I know of many done around here. Not everyone is going to spend close to $2K repairing a $3-5K baler the way JD wants you to.

Just pointing out you have to do them both or it is like running a truck in 4wd with different size tires on the front and rear axles. They fight one another and tear up drive lines. If the drive rolls are not the same, they tear up belts and drive chains.

Hey JD,

Do you know if this spray on bedliner will work on a New Holland drive roller? Have a 648 with the rubber coming off and a new one from CNH is more pricey than these guys are quoting for the Deere ones.

I would not think it would be any different then the JD balers. You sure would not be out much to try it.

JD thanks for passing that along, I can see lots of other applications for spray on bed liner, including flat belt pulley on my trip hammer which is worn and I can't get it off the old motor (easily).
