Oliver HG 68 front mounted cultivators

Any input on the rarity/value of front mounted Oliver cultivators for an Oliver Cletrac HG 68 crawler would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Rarer than the proverbial 'hen's tooth'.Value is probably what you and the other party can agree on.

It would take a real careful operator to drive that without tearing out a lot of plants. Crawler turning is rather abrupt, with the cultivator mounted forward the movement would be much worse.

Probably quite rare. I have never seen one. That is what the HG 68 was made for. Steering is planetary so is probably easy to control. It would probably be quite valuable for someone row-crop farming on hills. Probaly not worth much to a collector.

I don't know that the cultivator itself is rare, but the frame mounts and casters to put it on an HG or OC would be hard to find. The rest of the cultivator would be the same as the one for a 60-70-66-77 etc.

Never saw such a thing.

Yea, running that in a row crop all day would seem stressful to me too, I've never run a crawler really but just don't see something like that as easy to control on a hill.

Had many hours cultivating with an IHC, Ford, and Oliver mid mount (commonly called front mount, but it see that's not right after seeing this pic!) cultivators, and several 3pt cultivators.

One side or the other of $500 id say. Wonder what they were supposed to have in back to scratch out the crawlers tracks

Cletrac's planetary steering gave more precise control than the track clutches others used, so it probably wasn't too bad, but still harder than holding a steering wheel.

We had a customer that had a late OC-6 and a front mount 4 row. He said he ran over less corn with it than he did with his Super 77 which he cultivated with before.
