John Deere 44 plow

just got my new traction implement tire from M.E. Miller yesterday what way should I mount the tire? I've seen most that look like they are mounted backwards why was that? does it get better traction that way? the plow is rope trip thanks for advise Howard

Think of it like this, on a tractor, the "power" is coming from the ENGINE to the GROUND, so, they are "pointed" forewards.

However, on an implement like that, the "power" is coming from the GROUND to the CLUTCH, so, the tire needs to be mounted backwards, in order for it to get the best traction... Hope that makes sense?! Bryce

Exactly right, Bryce except you should add,"as viewed from the top." When it contacts the ground it is pointing the other way.

Yes i agree, or the dirt cant clean out, and it will just sit on top, when it's wet, and slide, and make a mess of your headlands.
