3 pt hitch forks

been out using my 3 pt lift with forks moving a few old rotten logs around.
a man cannot have too many tools.

cannot lift as high as a frontend loader, but I can slip under stuff and lift it off the ground, move it as necessary, drop it and slide right out from under the load.

works fairly well for a poor man without a frontend loader.
you can move the forks in/out

I use the same method. Don't have a real need to lift anything over a tailgate of a truck, & a loader just gets in the way in my opinion, & are overpriced for my size tractor (94 PTO HP) anyway! Even though they can be detached you still have the mounting brackets, & hydraulics to deal with.

Nice set you have and or made there. Be interesting to see the back side, from here it kind of looks like the front section of a forklift mast, minus the notches for the hardware on the forks.

I would agree, one of the more useful implements you can have for a tractor.

I'm in the same situation, I have a loader on another tractor but, theres a lot of work needing to be done on it. I was able to upgrade to a really nice much newer tractor, but it has no loader on it and given its FWD, prior owners, not a bad thing, it will get one eventually.

Even then, for heavier loads and moving longer distances, in my case, transporting logs to the yard, I would prefer 3 pt forks, vs towing or other means. Another great feature is raising logs for bucking/blocking, no more working off the ground, and I can collect all the sawdust from each one.

First photo is the agrisupply hollow metal 2000 lb rated 3 pt forks. I tore one tine from the A-frame, but can fix, likely just have a new tine made up and weld the same as the old one, which I could repair, but likely won't as it might be stressed too much, even though it does not look so.

Next photo is the set I am adding some steel to pin the the universal loader brackets. Its a woods, DuAl set for loaders without quick tach on the loader arms. I'm going to pick up some 3"x4"x 1/4" rectangle tube tomorrow, make upright posts, drill holes for pins or bolts, then I'll weld the top horizontal piece to the posts and weld the flange for a top link pin. One additional piece to make them work on a 3 pt, built per Cat 2 dimensions.

Nice thing about this set is they break down, and with the bracket holes/u-clamps for width adjustment, its supposed to fit about any loader arms with 1" pins. You can clamp a quick tach plate to the frame as well, replacing these brackets.

Glad I found these, really needed something heavier than hollow metal or a carry all type of implement.

I move my logs like this so I have no need for the 3pt forks but if I had a set up like yours I would be looking to add a hydraulic top link. it would make loading and unloading easier.

That's the next step on mine, hydraulic top link, seeing there's 2 pair of remotes, tractor hydraulics as well, though I need to learn the system on this particular tractor see how that works. Really don't need much for a top link. Also reminds me to look at those, link end hole sizes etc.

What you have on yours is all I'll be moving, give or take, 2-3 decent size logs at a time from a small landing I've kept mowed, firewood and clean up which makes a lot of 6" diameter logs.

We sold an all terrain fork lift or one model as I recall, Warner & Swasey, seeing yours reminds me, one customer, ordered both a W&S lift like yours and an Eager Beaver trailer, seems I recall an old invoice somewhere.

Kirk you have the set up, I would be ready with a tractor loader like that.

My old tractor does not have an additional hydraulic line, so I do not see a top link hydraulic cylinder in my future. I am in no real hurry, so I can make some manual adjustments as necessa

My area is fairly flat so with the top link adjusted properly, I moved 12 -15 loads of different size logs today. Only had one come off in the barnyard.

3 pt fork lift worked well. Great for picking up anything that is flat on the ground.
