Anyone know how to calculate or have a rule of thumb for how many bushels per minute an 8'' auger will transfer?

Thanks.

It all depends on the crop, moisture content of the crop, and the angle of the auger itself. There are tables around that give an estimation. The "rated" capacity is around 2500 bushels per hour, if memory serves. You would be hard pressed to do that in real world conditions. Mike

Running dry grain, in the 55-60#/bu. range, fairly flat, as in loading a truck, about a ton/minute can be achieved. Raise the auger up to a bin and start running wet grain up it, and capacity diminishes substantially.

Cant help you on calculations, but that will keep up with a 4 or 6 row machine on 150 bu corn, But not a 8 row machine that unloads on the go.
