Anyone know what a JD F225 3 disk plow is worth?

I found a JD F225 integral 3 disk plow missing the scrapers. Does anyone have a value? Granted it's plowed several acres because the disks are worn significantly. I've never seen one in person before.
Thanks,Jim

I have used an old disc plow for a few years.

Not too many of them around anymore as they are normally heavy and in the way, so off to
the scrapper they go.

I enjoy using a disc plow (that is in good shape): note to file, the key to successful
plowing with a disc plow depends on the condition of that rear guide wheel!!!!!!

Reason most old disc plows when to the fence row, rear guide wheel was worn down and the
plow would no longer run straight. Also the invention of the trip flat bottom plow.

But if you do not want to ruin your good flat bottom plow in a field full of rocks and
stumps, an old disk plow just might be your low cost ticket.

Thanks for your reply. Some things are worth more to some people than others. Let's take miniature horses for example which are worth nothing as far as I'm concerned.

It would also look great painted up and mounted to a slick 620 or 720 at a farm
equipment show.

Bet no one else would have one.

One thing I don't understand is 3 pt lower pins are Cat l(7/8'' while mast plate center link hole is Cat ll(1''). I didn't measure width between the pins as I didn't have a tape measure with me. If I looked at parts book correctly the hitch bar & mast plates are the same part numbers for a 3,4 or 5 disk model.

I've only ever seen a 5 disk version of that plow before. Not many sold so they're sought after for new generation tractors. It would be matched equipment for
the 2010 or perhaps 2510/2520. I'd probably bid that plow up to $300-400 at auction.

would have no idea on the difference of pin sizes.

my old MF #64 disc plow (bent tube model)has the standard 7/8" lower pins and 3/4" upper pin sizes as it was made to be used on smaller tractors like my TO35 Ferguson tractor.

It does a good job breaking ground,
something different to use,
for sure if you buy it, you will not meet yourself going down the road, as most people do not have one.

again buy it, even if you do not ever use it, it would look great behind an old John at a tractor show, bet it would be a good conversation piece.

Jim I think the top link hole was to do with the JD 801 hitch on the earlier two cylinders. If I remember right it required the larger top link hole for the "gooseneck" top link adaptor.

Have you seen many of these plows?

According to JD parts catalog the plow was produced from '62-. Each size of plow lists a ball(F2681R) & pin(F2683R) which is Cat ll. Cat l hitch bar(AA1468) to me seems small for a 5 disk plow. Plow also has rear wheel weight (P793A).
Have you seen many of these plows?
Thanks,Jim

Jim I have NEVER seen any of those plows. I know I had several sets of JD 3-14 plows that where the same way. Cat I on the lift bar and Cat II on the top link mast. One of these plows came with the 801 hitch part still on it. Some one had removed the top bolt and rotated it around and left it for a spacer. I think that plow was an 812.
