I'm looking at get a ih 440T baler. The guy wants 700 for it . He says it ran good until 1 day the knifes crossed and he couldn't quite get it re aligned. How hard could it be to fix? What's it worth. Would it be harder to find parts for an IH 440T or a JD 214WS?

It's worth scrap iron in it's present condition.$700 might be about right if it was running/useable.Parts are starting to get harder to find. The JD baler is easier to get parts for. They were in their day a decent baler.

Agree with DeltaRed. A nonworking IH baler stored outside is worth its weight in scrap iron ($150?). I bought a working IH 47 wire tie baler for $600. All I had to do was grease it and take it to the field. If it was in working condition and stored inside a 440 alltwine baler is worth $1500+. Kind of like the difference between a running and nonrunning tractor. If it only took a little bit to get it to run the seller would have done it.
