Coulter Choice

I'm looking to plow a poorly maintained field (only cut by a rotary mower at the end of each year) probably for the first time in about 40 years. Would it be best to go with a notched or plain disk coulter for this job?

It really does not make much of a difference, if you have the Coulters set deep enough..

GOOD notched Coulters may tent to keep turning when then encounter a root, etc...

If you are plowing 7" deep, have them set to at least 5" deep..

Ron..

I'm planning to buy a new set of coulter discs before starting and I have the choice so I figured I'd seek out some experience.

Does t much matter, what does matter in this case is bigger is better, as big as you can fit.
