Ford 250 baler - tried it

Tried out my 250 baler on cornstalks Monday. Didn't get much done due to a light shower - just enough to make hay too damp. However, I made a few ugly, misshapen bales - it will tie, but seems to have trouble feeding. Pickup does need some teeth, but what it has would pick up the windrow just fine but wouldn't quite get it to the feed auger. Maybe it'll be better when things are dry enough. Hope to try again later this week. Baling stalks not a real important thing. Got to work on soybeans.

Actually, it would pile up quite a bit of material - so much that when it finally got pushed to the auger, there was enough to stop the auger
- it hit it all at once. If I could get it to feed evenly, I think it'd be fine.

Can't you find some nice dry straw bales in the barn, to run through the baler? My prediction is that if you keep fooling around with the cornstalks, it will be the end of your baler. About 4 people with direct knowledge told you not to try on cornstalks in your previous post. Your baler, your call. Tom
