Not all that hard to figure out how long it is. Move the pitman drive all the way in and then measure how for it goes all the way out. Then do the same with the sickle bar. I have done that more then once when I have gotten in a sickle bar mower and had good luck doing so. Make sure that when all the way in the sickle bar sections are centered in the guards both out and in

(quoted from post at 02:49:59 10/14/15) need a pitman arm for a Dearborn 14-15 rear mower can any one help? length would help

Both of my 14-15 mowers have metal pitman arms. It was a riveted assembly from the factory.

I just measured my pittman arms for both the 14-15 and my JD green one and came up with 34 inches. They made wood ones which I have one. The 14-15 has an arm made of a tbar post for barb wire. They got tired of it breaking the sickle and sold it to me for cheap. Remember that your ground determines whether you use wood for a pittman or steel. Rocky ground, use a wood one so your repairs are lightweight rather than metal where you have to replace the sickle bar or repair it when the sickle grabs a rock really hard. The second (JD) mower has a wood pittman and has been there for many years. They modified the hitch assy to make it 3 pt. I may look for a guage wheel for the rear if it seems worth it. I am thinking about putting 2 gauge wheels on one of them for depth.
