bearing change

I need to replace spreader shaft bearings on a KellyRyan spreader. The closest I can find are a Timken that is no longer available.
If there is no replacement could I use a bronze bushing and drill for a grease hole and have that work without a lot of excess wear.
Just considering options.

Did you happen to try and call Blair Manufacturing in Blair Nebraska, that is where the spreader was made. Just a thought. chris

The bearings in question are 1.125 ID x 1.625 OD x 2 long, journal roller bearings. I did have a bearing guy find one of the right ID and OD but it is only 1 1/2" long. This spreader is only used for about 20 loads a year so I really don't want to spend a fortune on replacement bearings.
