Hello all! Hopefully someobne here can help me. I am looking to buy a sickle bar mower for my super c. The seller tells me that it is belly mounted and lifts using chains hooked to the hydraulics. He says it needs a wooden pitman arm but he believes it should work besides that. I tried a Google search and cannot find a belly mounted sickle bar on a super c. Does anyone know anything about these? Is this a mower for a cub and not a c? I will try to include the pictures he has sent me. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

That is a Kosch mower made at the Kosch Mfg, 3429 E23rd St,Columbus, Ne. Apparently they still make Hay equipment but on a quick look the only ref to that mower was a 1957 add on e-bay.

We have one just like it My Dad put on an "H" International for a while but i don't know how it worked.Probabaly pretty handy on seeing the blade. I was going to try it and bought a new pittman stick but after mounting had trouble with the tractor PTO and gave up. Big problem would be inventing your own mounting (brackets to bolt to side of tractor) and then difficulty with on/off. Most likely better to leave on all the time. cleddy

Definitely a Kosch belly mount mower. I don't think I have a book for that one, but I do have a book for their trail mowers. The front bar on the trail mower uses most of the same parts as t this one does. I have a new pitman stick I can either measure, or might sell it to you. (They are still sold locally, all the time)
I don't have any pictures of the mounting brackets off of my 400, and it is 400 miles away right now, but give me a couple days and I can get some for you. If you don't want the mower, I might be interested in it, also,

Looking at the mounts more, I am not so sure that it wasn't on a H or M. You would just have to measure the width. They aren't to bad to remount, especially if you have a narrow front end.

This is the same set up, other then I have the back mower also.

Lazy wp do you know how to measure it? I was told it came off a farmall c but I would like to check as well. Also how hard are they to find parts for? I mostly would use it for trimming along the driveway but I don't want to have to hunt for parts too hard

It definitely is a Kosch. I have one like it on my cell farmall. I have a book and maybe 2 books for it. Make sure you have the pulley for it that goes on the pto shafts since they are expensive from kosch, although you may be able to make one. Those pulleys came in two different sizes IIRC. I'll post some pics for you if I can find them.

On my 400, and 450, you just measure the frame rails. The C doesn't have frame rails does it? You just have to figure out how wide it is. I'm not sure where the front mount is on the C, Greg might have a picture of that. They are a great mower!! and the C makes a nice mowing outfit.

I think I have an extra PTO pulley also, if you don't have one. I think the C will need the larger pulley, anyway that is what the 400 uses.

What would you have to have for that pulley? I'm goin to need one

I seen the post with the pictures of the mower on the white "c" and now it is gone. I wanted to look at it a little closer as mine may go on a "c" sometime. Looks like it is pretty easy to do. I just don't get what happened to the Post- Is it my computer or what????Cleddy

If you look in the upper right corner and see where it says "modern view" and click on that you can still access those pics. I don't know why they are not there in classic view. They had some server trouble the other day and I think it is related. If you can't find it start a new post with my name and I'll re post them.

Lazy wp, I cannot find your email on here. If your interested would you e mail me? My address is [email protected]

Thanks for all of the help! I'm going monday to pick up the mower and I can't wait to put it to work!
