Timing a NH 570

Anyone have any tips. I have a NH273 and have done quite a bit to it and have a manual for it. My buddy has a 570 that is breaking shear pins and needs some help timing it. He is looking for the manual, but can anyone give a quick timing run down for me so we can get him back up and baling?

Should be similar to the 273. just find and line up the marks. Then roll it over by hand BEFORE you put the tractor/hay to it to check. Before you go to "retimeing" it,chech the plunger safty stop. Make sure it is working properly/not hanging up. Sometimes ,a out of adjustment plunger stop will cause excessive shearing.

Check the needle frame brake. A needle brake that's not snug enough can cause flywheel pin to shear even though baler is in TIME.

I have a nh 275 baler and was breaking shear bolts and I timed it and tightened the knotter brake that helped but still would break bolts. We changed the fly wheel bushing and took the slop out of fly wheel input shaft on the gear box by tightening it up.That took the vibration and alot of noise out of the baler its quieter and smoother now. I was breaking shear bolt every 100 -150 bales or running to fast in big wind rolls.Knock on wood I've baled over 1800 bales and haven't broke any. I baled 1123 and changed the bolt before starting second field and then baled 745 more.
