The belt available at shoup is just for the 279. The only belts I have been able to find locally started burning up pretty quick. Anyone else have a source of the right belt for the 272?

I found one through the local agco dealer-- $135. It would be nice to find one a little cheaper..

Try www.V-beltsupply.com. They are WAY cheaper than going through New Idea. I'll see if I can find the part numbers.

Take your old belt to an industrial supply house they'll match one up and then you'll have the common number for it too.

Something I ran into on mine that might help you out on burning up a belt. Check the alignment on the sheaves. Use a straight edge or a couple of framing squares. I had to loosen the gearbox bolts to get the sheaves parallel.

V-Belt supply part number is B67/03. IIRC they were less than $40. Another thing we did was to clean up any rust and scale on the rotor sheave with a wire wheel. So far this belt has held up well.

Not a problem. You have to back the tensioner off. It's a little bit of a tussle but not bad

If you don't have the operators manual, I strongly advise getting one. It's a lifesaver. AGCO should have it. Manual #FM-106
