Good Morning Guys, I have a 273 wire tie baler. I am having trouble getting it to tie consistently. The knotters are in reasonable shape. The wire is in reasonable shape. One wire will occasionally wrap around the shaft, and or break at the knot. Most of the old timers close, that have any clue have passed away. Is there an online source that may have any good information?

Order a real paper book. Than you can take it to the field with you.Sounds like the knife/anvil is worn. Not cutting off the wire.

Have you checked the wire guides & roller? The rollers need to turn freely with no flat spots worn in them. Any guides with grooves worn in them should be replaced. Look to see if twister shaft has a groove worn in it. If twister shaft has a groove it can be rotated 180 degrees. I always pour extra oil on the wire rolls after I put them in wire holders

Something that never gets checked and cause problems is rollers in needle end and rollers in wire guides on bottom of bale case. NH pn 646311 takes 4.
