Massey Ferguson trailer-type sickle mower

I'm new to the forum, but look forward to many good visits.

I have a Massey Ferguson trailer-type sickle mower. How would I go about finding the model number of the mower so I can attempt to get parts for it? I tried to upload some photos, but I'm not sure that it worked.

Thanks for the help!

Jason,
Just look down a few post, another guy ask basically the same question

What is the model number of his trailer MF trailer mower?

I made a copy of a #51 MF owners manual that has a picture on the front of the manual.

The #51 MF trailer mower looks just like yours and his apparently.,

However, he said his was not painted black and white. Back in the day most manuals were
printed in black and white?????? On that one.

Yours looks like a #51 to me, trailer mower with a belt drive.

What tractor do you pull it with, that you need a trailer cutter? Would appear to me, a
3 pt. Hitch hook.up would be more convenient and easier to maneuver.

Hope MF 51 model # helps.

I mow almost all my hay with a NH 456 trailer mower and have several 3pt mowers but the
trailer type corners betters and I like the way it cuts better than the 3pt ones.Another advantage of a trailer mower is if you have older tractors they don't need a 3pt hitch to work and they can be hooked up to the tractor in a minute or two.

good points,
have never used one or actually seen one in my area,

so I had no experience working with one,

my neighbor has was appears to be the same mower, but on a 3 pt hitch, he sure likes it, works good,

my older MF #32 mower was good back it the day, but it is used mostly for ditch bank cutting now.

thanks for the reply,

I can't help you with a model number, but the drive mechanism, gearbox and belt arrangement is the same as
an MF41 mower 3pt mower.

Sorry for not being able to help you with your sickle mower, but just wanted to say that you have a really nice looking JD MT.

Thanks for the help. I put out an ad looking for either a 3pt or trailer type (I didn't want the direct-mounted version) and this was the one I got.

I'll look into getting parts for the model #51.

Thanks, but the JD isn't mine. It was parked beside the mower at a consignment auction lot. I ended up buying the mower before the auction, so if you are really interested, I can probably connect you with the JD.

Thanks for the help. I'll keep that in mind. Right now, all that works fine. What I need is the rock shaft that twisted off (lack of grease it appears) when I tried to raise the mower.

Get it apart and weld back together. Likely dry from sitting and that large implement cylinder won.
