Hi All,

Found an oliver side rake in our fence row yesterday and wondering upon it's worth. It's a number 2 .. has a crack in the shroud. If you have any idea how much, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Looks like the front axle has been slid over Which means the bevel gears may be out on the other side.
Looks like the bars that the teeth are attached to maybe be bent also.
Probably a pretty good reason they parked it

I might be interested in a few parts depending on your location. We've got one I'd just like to fix up and needs a few things, and some motivation to get it done.

Donovan from Wisconsin

First one I ever seed. Dad said that during the war nobody could get anything new, and there were long lines of farmers wanting to buy new stuff. Priority was givin to groups of farmers who would band together. Dad and 2 others got the OK to get a steel wheel Oliver side rake around 30/40 miles from home. They got it, But the partnership didn't work. One of the partners would be using it for his or someone elses hay. once dad went to get it and found it chained to a big tree. That's when he went out of the partnership

Have never heard of an Oliver rake being made on steel. And as such they are very few of the rubber tire ones around so probably no parts avaible so not much in value.

In their day and when they were in good shape those old Oliver side delivery rakes were about the best around raking hay but that one would need a whole lot of work to get going for sure.
