biodegradeable plastic twine

anyone use the Clearfield biodegradable plastic twine? my round bales are stacked outside so wondering how well it will hold up. generally I use plastic. thought I'd try it if it lasts for awhile.

I hate the stuff. I typically use the standard orange colored stuff from runnings but tried a roll of the Clearfield thinking it would breakdown better. I can tell you it does not break down unless the sun is actually hitting it. Also my 849 NH baler doesn't seem to feed it properly. It doesn't want to grab the string when trying to tie. Then you have to get off the baler and pull some string out so it's longer. Not safe and not required when I use the orange plastic twine.

thanks, I found out the hard way. was all I could find so bought it. did not feed worth a hoot. went back to the orange.
thanks for sharing

I've actually had good luck with it, feeds just fine in my old Vermeer.

It doesn't rot away all that fast, but it does fray down over several years, better than the everlasting plastic.

I tried it one year on round bales and the Texas sun ate it in 6 months. It was fraying and breaking on it's own and I ended up with a bunch of loose bales over the winter. Not Happy!
Not a bad idea but not enough UV resistance for this part of the country.
