Just bought a New Idea 12 ton gear I'm gonna make into a hay wagon. I noticed the wheels were loose when I looked at it, so I'm now taking the hubs off to grease the bearing. I'm pretty certain I'm the first person in there since the factory built it...

But think of all the money he saved from not greasing it for 40 years!

I must have gotten that same guys new idea box spreader and gehl wheel rake, all the grease zerks on them where as dry as a popcorn fart! LOL

I just keep looking at those nice 8 bolt hubs and think "ya wanna trade for an 8 ton electric with 6 bolt rims?" It's really too light to be under a chopper box, but that's where we have it for now, even though we have yet to use that particular wagon because I gotta do a few repairs to it so it'll unload on the left side without tossing the conveyor drive chain.

This was under a knight chopper box. I'm junking the front, and mounting the box backward on a 953 running gear to haul firewood. I'm putting a 26 foot truck bed on this wagon so I can haul 10 - 13 5 by 6 round bales at a time.

Your old grease is still new enough to be shiney. Now when it all has the appearance of cardboard, THAT is old, LOL.

HA, I got a iron wheeled grain wagon with rollers for bearings. The rollers are mostly gone, and the wheels, at least 2 of them sway side to side a bit. The wagon is pulled slow and don't go off the farm so ill keep it till I find something better.

Take what's left of your rollers to a bearing place. They should be able to get new ones.
