After baling a first cut in memorably soggy weather, I decided to replace the wheel bearings on my tedder. Good thing, 2 of 4 wheels the extra strain of pulling through mud (not by choice, believe me)had destroyed a bearing each and the others looked suspect. In the process, I discovered that there was a lot of slop in the castings which bears the axle and the shaft on the two outer wheels. I could help the axle play problem by replacing the plastic bushings top and bottom (cheap) but the slop in the shaft seems harder to fix. So a couple of questions: where can I get an exploded parts diagram for this tedder ( can't seem to find one to download) and, is there some sort of bearing on the shaft that I can replace? Or am I just sol since the shaft has worn the casting enough that one or both need replacing? (probably cost more than the tedder is worth). a link or pdf of a parts manual would be greatly appreciated and opinions about what to do about this welcomed. This tedder is ancient, but actually does a better job than the larger newer 5000T that I have.
