Mystery haybine guards

These guards came on a 477 haybine I bought last year. I'd like to replace a couple of them, and have a couple spares. But nobody, dealer included recognizes them. To replace all the guards is going to cost more than the haybine is worth.

Any ideas?

Never saw any like that either. Maybe something can be substituted. "More than it's worth".I hear that a lot.Can you buy another
windrower in the same condition(or better) for the cost of repair? ...Probably not.
 
Sure looks like a version of sch sickle system, but it thought then every other knife is upside down, you would notice that?

You nailed it ... thats exactly it. Mine has a seven stamped on the bottom, same as they describe for one of them ... Thanks a million.

No, knives weren't opposite, and yeah, it seemed to be cutting just fine. Really good price on those guards, I guess that is why the last owner went with them. They don't seem as rugged as a regular guard, anybody know what other disadvantage there might be with them?
Biggest problem is I need to start cutting on Saturday, and there is no way they would get here in time.
 
Hesston has a similar guard. The difference is that the top piece is separate on those and slips in to a notch in the bottom half. They eliminate the need for hold down clips. Makes for a hold down on every guard.
 
I get a kick out of posts that say wear parts to repair a machine cost
more than the machine is worth. If that 477 had decent cutting parts on
it, maybe it wouldnt have been so cheap to buy.
 
A good haybine is worth 3500 and up Complete set of china guards will run you 240 bucks. Deal with it.
 
Get yourself a Shoup farm parts catalog, it has a whole page of cutting parts for SCH system. From what I can read these are maunufactured to fit combine platforms. A two point No.7 standard guard goes for $19.30.
