my apron chain is so loose it skips cogs until starting hay titens the chain to the cogs,.. how can I tighten the chain , I looked on the tailgate ,. surely there are better ways .,, without pulling out links and shortening the chain ,. thanx guys

When I tightened mine I blocked the gate up and used a fence strecher to pull up the slack and take two links out on each side.
Course it wasn't much longer and it needed a new chain....then the real fun begins....changing all the bars.
