JD CCA field cultivator

A friend of mine is rejuvenating a JD CCA field cultivator. I have learned they were made
from late 1930s to early 1960s (correct?).

He is trying to determine what year it was made...he has the serial number. Is there a way
to track down the year with that serial number?

Thank you,

Does he have the Parts Catalog? If not, try to get one and it may have some S/N information. It is Parts Catalog PC554 (01AUG66) and should be available from a Deere dealer or direct from Deere Publications on a CD. phone 1-800-522-7448

It can be viewed for free at the DEERE parts site.

Don't think there's any direct serial # info in it, but there were few changes over the years, and the year can be narrowed down a bit by looking into that.

Parts catalog indicates CC-A were built 1957-
