Tractor harrow worth

I'm looking to sell a IH 10 foot tractor harrow and wondered about what to ask. It's well used but still very useable. Thanks

In my area of NE Wisconsin, a tractor harrow was one that had the hydraulic cylinder to adjust the depth rather than the handles to set the depth. Attached is a picture of my IH 401 16 ft. harrow. I also have a 12 foot IH tractor harrow where you back up to set the depth and then pull a trip rope to raise the harrow. I see these harrows advertised for $50 to $300 in my area. Price might depend on condition and if you have some small hobby farms in your area. Al

Ive farmed in NE Kans and NE Okla since 69. Never seen a hydraulic harrow, OR a trip rope harrow. Im 68, and have never seen them.

A tractor could pull a disc, or a spike tooth, or a spring type, at least those are some around here. perhaps you could supply a little more description.

I am in Ohio and have a JD hydrolic control one but quit farming before got it ready to use.

The way I have seen it a tractor harrow is just wider sections. Regardless of how many sections are put together the horse version is smaller.

Same here Charlie. My dad had a 3 section JD spike tooth harrow. I had never harrowed before, and I turned a corner too short and the harrow came up over the tire and shoved me forward to the right. I grabbed the clutch and pulled it back on the A JD as I was going down. Weaved between the clutch and hood to get on the ground. pulled it off and was good to go.
Another time I was harrowing for my uncle. He had a 4 section JD harrow. I got too close to the end of the field and had to pull all 4 sections back far enough to turn around. I was in grade school then. LONG time ago.

Not nesserally so. Some are the same except placement of the levers, On a John Deere spring tooth the levers are placed to the front of the section so when you need to make an adjustment you can just step off the tractor and reach them, not have to walk around behind the unit as with in the horse lever position as on that they are mounted to the back so the operator can just reach up and do the adjustment from the back where he was already walking to follow the horse as the harrow did not have a seat. A tractor disk harrow could either be a wheel disk or drag type with hitch angle adjusted from tractor seat, The horse model just had levers on each section to do the adjusting.
