NH 455 sicklebar mower

I just purchased a NH 455 sickle bar mower for $150. The mower works great but grass gets caught in the hole where the last
knife goes through the shoe at the end of the sickle bar. Over time, the grass bunches up and lifts the bar off the ground.

It looks like it's missing a part as there is a bolt hole close to the opening in the shoe in the end of the bar. I looked on
the New Holland website and the drawing isn't as detailed as I need. ( item #15 Part # 244273 on the parts diagram found here:
http://partstore.agriculture.newholland.com/us/parts-search.html#epc::mr66575ar130181 )

Can anyone tell me if there is a part that is needed to prevent grass from being pushed through this opening on part #244273?
Can anyone share some pictures of their 455 so I can see the right configuration for this shoe? Are there any tricks to prevent
this from happening? All grass dividers (what NH calls them) are in place.

Your help is appreciated!

Make sure the ledger either (Key 14) or (Key 16) is still riveted to the outer shoe (Key 15).

Make sure the knife clip (Key 9) closest to the outer shoe is tight enough on the knife back (Key 29) to make a good, shear cut on the grass.

You might consider removing the last knife section either (Key 30) or (Key 30A) and replacing it with a "section and a half" to help eliminate grass clogs.

Hope this helps.

As James said you definitely need one of those end sections with the extra half tooth or it'll drive you crazy in short grass.Also count your sections for some reason I've never figured out the new blades for my NH 456 all come with 29 sections instead of the 28 I just knock off the two end sections and add a section and a half on using 3 of the holes to rivet it on and cut off the extra piece.

Thanks so much for all of this information. I'm looking for the section and a half knife. Is there a tool to put the rivets into the bar? Or will the bolts also work?

I'm going to post some pictures of the end of my mower so you guys can see what I currently have.
