Had a chance 2 days ago and today to start checking it over with my multimeter, and I'm led to believe it's the switch itself. I found the 2 hour wires that go to the motor and they both seem to check good on a resistance check, but the switch in one position will carry voltage but they're it the other way and I get nothing.
Right now the plan is to grab the controller from the parts chopper and start testing the switch on that one too see if it's any good, and if it is I'll switch them out and hope for the best. Otherwise I'll have to hope that I can get a new one here by Friday.
