JD Plow, best value?

Last year I bought a nice little JD #22A plow. I bought it because it was close by and the price was right. It's on new rubber and is in very sound shape other then the share was missing and a few minor problems that I've corrected.

I really don't need it, I have a JD #44 and a fully mounted plow for my Farmall BN.

I was thinking about selling the #22A. What I was curious about is if it would be worth fixing the bottom before selling? Finding a share would be the quickest route but it has a Syracuse 1450 bottom on it which are not only NLA but also seem none existent used.

The other option would be to source a NU bottom. That can get expensive quickly as used parts are not common around here and shipping can really be a killer.

It's a really nice little unit, just trying to figure out how to maximize it's value.

There is an Amish guy in Ohio that forges plow parts, I think it is either Sommerset or Big Prairie OH. I have personally bought a 1450 share from him several years ago. Send me an email and I will send you his catalog.

(quoted from post at 10:10:06 07/25/15) Contact Ploworx, Steve Rea. 330-332-9386. He can make a steel replacement.

Just saw this.

Very cool, I sent him an email. Looks like he might be able to make share for my BN-187 as well. Nice to see someone keeping these old units going!
