There's three wires. I don't remember the colors... but you will find 2 hot and one ground. One hot is continuously hot. The other one is switched by the momentary switch you hold in your hand. When the twine wand passes the center of the baler on it's trip across it trips a micro switch that gives it full power through the timing controller on the baler. If the controller is bad then you can use the push button to keep feeding the wand along. If you're stuck and the timing box is bad... you can just cut all the wires off and wire directly to the motor and use the momentary switch to control it directly. It's a pain in the arse.... but it works. Mine has been that way for several years now. I'm scared to price what that timer is worth... Just keep in mind that the basic motor is a DC motor. It will run in either direction depending on which side you apply power to. You won't hurt the motor by touching the wires to it 'backwards'. Just remember that it can't cycle the mechanism backwards... so just play with it and spark it up. No doubt it will work one way or another...
