hydraulic hose fittings for 499 haybine pump

I had the main high pressure hose blow out yesterday on the 499 haybine. Dealer says $172 for a new one. The hose is 1" I.D. x 45" long, with two different threaded ends. Anyone know what type of fitting those ends are? I think I'm going to take it tomorrow to a hydraulic hose shop to have one made. The end that connects to the pump looks like an o-ring boss fitting, the other end that connects to the pipe has a step machined into the I.D. to fit onto the steel pipe, with a swivel nut on the pipe. Haven't seen anything like that before. Since I drained all the oil out of the reservoir, I'm going to replace the suction hose also, since it looks kinda old.

Thought I'd be smart and cut the outside counter-clockwise pass first, so I could get closer to the fence. Apparently I didn't have the pump chained up tight enough, as it must have slipped off the PTO shaft enough for the torque arm to slide off the drawbar frame, and made a revolution before stopping against the drawbar. Twisted off the hydraulic line. I was making a fairly tight turn to the left at the time, and I saw the mower reel stop turning. I thought it plugged up, so I raised it up, then shut off the PTO. Guess I should have looked down at the pump then. Instead I turned the PTO back on, and BANG, it blew out the hose where it twisted. Only 2/3 way around the first pass. I guess that's why I normally do the outside pass last, that's where everything seems to go wrong

Take it to a local hydrualic repair shop. Most of them will have various fittings in stock. I have also had success with cutting the ferrel (hose crimp) off of the hose and reusing the fitting.

I agree, take that hose to a place that makes hydralic hoses. A 'speciallized' one like that may require a farm dealer...That 172.00 figure may not be that far out of line...Hoses are expencive, especially bigger ones with 'oddball' fittings.
