I have to replace the 4 overrun pins and springs on my 469 haybine. I've tried to find a manual. Any way after waiting 3 weeks for it to dry out,Started cutting today and cut maybe 5 acres the reel and rollers stopped.I found that the overrun pins were gone. From looking it over I have to remove the 3 9/16 bolts and the collar on the back side of the gear box. And the bolts holding the gear box on. Do any of you guys see anything that I'm missing or offer any advice or help?
Thanks Joe

I had a 469 but never worked on the overunning clutch. I vaguely remember having apin or pins stuck and kept it well greased after that. I suggest you go toa dealer and get them to print out a parts breakdown of the clutch so you can see bewtter how it is put together.

I think if you do a search on this site, you'll find a lot of guys just weld them up solid. I don't think NH has used an overunning clutch on the rollers for quite some time.

If the pins are gone, you have slop in the whole assembly. Maybe a broken shaft or a missing lock collar. I bought a 469, took the entire gear box assembly apart to go over it and found the shaft was cracked thru at the half moon keyway. I also use to use a 461 and if there was any slop in the shaft assembly, the pins would slip. As far as welding an over running clutch solid, sounds like a really bad idea. The clutch allows the rollers to keep going when you stop your PTO. Without one, the momentum will transfer to your tractor. Then what?
