Broken Wheel Spindle on 467 Haybine Need Help

I have a 467 haybine that was my dad's. Just made it thru cutting 10 acres and broke the wheel clean off. Half the spindle on machine and half still in the "beheaded" wheel and hub. New replacement spindle is a bit pricey. Can anyone suggest a place to find aftermarket ones? Or does anyone have a semi-decent one they would like to sell? I believe the length I need is 10 1/8" total and weight of haybine is 2130#. Sorta new at this so any help would be appreciated.

you need to take both pieces out and take them to a machine shop and have one made. Axle broke on my 268 baler and was $150-200 at dealer, local shop 50 bucks good as new!

Where are you located? I'm in Connecticut
and have a complete parts one here pretty
sure it's a 467 that number sounds familiar
but honestly it's been 6 or 7 years since I
parked it and stopped making hay

Don't most dealer have a rack with spindles and hubs hanging on them or is it just the ones where I go?
Where are you by the way? I have a bunch around here that I've torched off wagons and what not. I'm in mid Michigan.

Thanks so much for the info. Just talked with a shop willing to do it. Thank you all for taking time to answer and help.

If it's the same as our 469, we had the same thing happen a couple
years ago. Dad had just finished cutting about 4 acres in the middle
of town, pulled out on the road to head home and the spindle broke.
Had to drag it into some bodies front yard! New Holland necked those
down pretty small and its apparently a weak spot they know about, the
new replacement is ALOT heavier and not necked down soo small...might
ask the parts guy about it before passing it off due to the extra
cost.

That's about how this happened. We have two fields next to each other but have to use the highway a bit. Fortunately we just pulled off the highway, not more than 100 feet when it happened. Thanks for the added info.

I do believe I have the spindles off a 477. If you're close to Ohio, give me an email & I'll send one to you for the cost of the shipping. Keith
