conditioner gearbox Hesston 1091 haybine

The output shaft on the conditioner drive gearbox of my haybine went out today. Gearbox seems fine, no leaks, input shaft is fine. Only thing I can find is that the shaft coming out of the gearbox (the one with the sprocket that drives the chain for the conditioner and reel)spins freely from the gears in the gearbox.
I hope to take it apart tomorrow and find a way to replace a key. Anyone done this before have any input?

Got it apart this morning. Pretty straightforward. Keyway on shaft.
