Well knotter problems cost me some valuable time today so no good action photos of the baling or bale picking up process but I did snap a couple pics at dark. Got all the bales (guessing 160 or so) picked up before dew set in. 2 truck beds full plus the 16' trailer stacked as high as I care to throw from the ground.

Looks like good tight bales. Don't you just love knotter problems? My 269 always misses a few when you start out then gets it's rhythm and Usually ties until I'm Done. I got 118 Saturday .

Nice formed bales. At least you didn't need to take the time to blot out the neighbors, LOL.

The little camera done good as it was totally dark when I snapped these. Could not even see to aim just snap and hope for the best. I was surprised the dinky flash lit up as much stuff as it did. The building that is visible as a shadow belongs to me so I left it in there.

Nice looking bales. Are they 12x16? My grandfather had a NH 65 baler. He pulled it with a B Allis-Chalmers.

Yes 12X16 is the bale chamber size. A little smaller than the traditional 14X18 size which is by far the most common square baler size or the 16x18 size which is also out there too.

You can adjust the length to whatever length you desire though and still make a heavy bale.

I have pulled this baler with my little Kubota L285 compact tractor. The Kubota is only about 26.4 max PTO hp but closer to 22 to 23 hp with throttle set as 540 PTO rpm. I like the Kubota on the baler as it has good gear selections and being diesel is not as prone to governor surges like a gasser, That said, balers can be hard on a tractor's driveline so why not use an oldie with some beef in the tractor driveline like a Farmall h or Farmall m. Neither of these worth all that much either from a dollar perspective so I am not out much if they get baler thrashed.
