John deere 37 mower

Going to look at a John deere 37 mower any tips as what to look for?
I know the usual knife section ,pitman etc but was there any special problem with this mower? The thing that has me confused is its an Amish selling a mower on Craigslist and with a picture included I can't help wondering why. Thanks Larry
